In 2005, the family I had been nannying for, for the last 5 1/2 yrs moved to China. I was heartbroken because they were like family to me. I had been there since each of the girls were babies and I couldn't imagine not having them in my life. Thankfully 6 yrs later were are still extremely close. They spend every summer here in the States and I am blessed to watch them and have many sleepovers when they're here.
The best thing about their move to China is that I have been able to visit them twice. In 2006, they flew me there to spend 12 days with them. And then in Winter 2008 I returned again with the new family I was nannying for who happened to be good friends with my China family. Both trips were life changing. We saw all the famous sites like the Great Wall.

During both trips I also spent time at a nearby orphanage. Playing & loving on the kids warmed my heart but it also broke it. I hated seeing all these beautiful children in need of a family
These 2 trips to China are among the best experiences in my life. I fell in love with the culture, people and language of China. I had about a hundred more pictures I wanted to post here. It's a truly fascinating place, so different from the US. I pray for the people of China that God would move in mighty ways there.
